The sculptural excellence award is an original welded steel sculpture created by 'Yosemite' Sam himself. Sam’s sculpture is a featured award at the Cobo Hall Autorama in Detroit. The award is bestowed upon the owner of the car who, in the opinion of the sculptor, has created a work of art in the form of a car. The award presentation is unique in that it is awarded on the Friday before the show opens. This allows the general public to appreciate the winning car throughout the show. Specs: 35" to 45" (89cm to 114cm) tall Each Award is an original sculpture by 'Yosemite' Sam Radoff & is completely different each year. No, the person in the photograph is actually 'Yosemite' Sam, making his first appearance as a celebrity look-alike. His new career was short-lived, however, as he wasn't very good at looking like celebrities. I think we all knew right away that it wasn't Tim Allen, star of a popular TV show, in that picture. So anyways, long story short, Sam went back to metal sculpting and painting. Which he IS very good at. | |||||
